I have an announcement to make . . . it's kind of like a NEWS Flash. Noble Bob "Hook" Collins finally made it through a parade without the assistance of the wrecker. Congratulations, 'Hook". It only took you a whole parade season minus one parade to do it in and to think you are our MASTER mechanic!!
Speaking of announcements, I understand the Indy's have a new Honorary Member, Noble Dr Newman did us proud at the Island Falls parade by driving the Official Indy Pace Car. I understand he did an outstanding job and did the Indy's proud. Thanks, Doc, we are really proud and appreciate you being there for us.
As far as parades go, our parade season is quickly coming to a close. We have the Houlton Field Day and that's it. Shortly we will be tucking the cars in for the long northern Maine winter and waiting for all that lovely white stuff to start flying around. Houlton Field Day will be held next weekend and hopefully by the time this article is printed we will be saying that it was a huge success, that everyone had a good time and that there was no shortage of food or Camel's Milk . . . right, Noble Tom!
The Indy's will be having their 2nd annual end of summer Ladies Appreciation Picnic. The gracious couple of Noble Jerry & Lady Bev McAvaddy again will host this. They have again offered to open their home to the Indy's and their guests. Thank you both so much for your generous hospitality. It is my understanding that the menu will consist of steak, lobster tails and yes, Noble Keith, STEAMERS, back by popular demand.
All indications at this time are that the Indy's will be making the trip to the Northeast in Hartford, CT. There are at least seven (7) members that will be there to represent the Indy's. Illustrious Potentate Dick Hallet has agreed to lend us Noble Boomer Palmer and Noble Dale Clifford so that we will have a good showing for the parade. We promise Illustrious Sir that we will return them to you in ALMOST as good a shape as we received them in… . . . no guarantees. If any of you are planning on attending the Northeast or plan on going then please notify Noble Bob Collins as soon as possible.
Now it's time to play catch up AGAIN, it seems that's all I do is play catch up. That's what happens when your favorite past time is procrastinating. Indy Birthdays and Anniversaries for June go to: Noble Bob "Boomer & Lady Julianna, happy anniversary; happy birthday to Lady Karen Shaw, and another anniversary goes to Noble Paul & Lady Anne Stoddard.
Anniversary congratulations for July go to Noble Tom & Lady Gail, Noble Greg & Lady Jennifer Hallett and Noble Hollis & Madelyn Irvine. Birthday wishes for July goes out to Lady Julianna Palmer and her other half Noble Bob "Boomer" Palmer. Congratulations to each and every one of you.
Birthday wishes for August go to Lady Kathy Clifford, Lady Gail Clukey and Lady Betty Drake. We have one anniversary in August; congratulations are in order for Noble Mike & Lady Bonnie London.
Again, congratulations to each of you on your special days, hope they were great and filled with lots of cheer & fun times. If I have forgotten anyone I apologize. It's just that I messed up (not likely, ha, ha) or I do not have your information. Please forward me that information and I promise I will make it up to you.
